it might seem crazy what I’m about to say; sunshine she’s here, you can take a break.

hey, drop-by-ers.
:D
so i would like to share my first-time-ever experience meeting some of the popular Malaysian Youtubers ever!

before i even got the green light to head down, i kinda had some issues with my mum on this matter and i almost like lost the golden opportunity. (well, THIS is a golden opportunity for me, FYI)
well, i rode first class AeroLine down with my friend, Yimei, whom also gotten the invite directly from KakaoTalkMalaysia.
:)
how did i get an invite you asked?

here's the story:
i do have the KakaoTalk app in my phone but i rarely use it because not many of my friends use the app.
and i had followed JinnyboyTV's account to get random updates from them and etc.
then one day, (the date in fine print below)...
 yep, hello to you too!
but i didn't respond though.
due to the whole 'it's too good to be true to just send in and win and since when do i win stuff right?'
and so i just left it as it is.

and then on 7th April, there came a reminder as you can read from the screenshot.
and that time somehow i just thought, no harm in trying right...
just send only mahh.
at that point i was still hesitating as you can see the time gap.

but i sent in and moved along with the days at work, indirectly forgetting about everything about this until i got a call from them saying i've gotten the invite.
:))
the enthusiasm can be read in my previous post.

19th April 2014, 8.15 a.m., Saturday
so Yimei got the tickets ready (2-way for me) and we agreed to go down on that day itself because i wouldn't be able to catch a bus down the day before.
basically i agreed to fetch Yimei to the AeroLine stop since it was on the way.
but when i reached her place, she didn't pick up my call and my mum was rushing to wherever she needed to be so i kinda had to ask my mum to drop me first and i'll drop Yimei a text.

the odd 'Out' sign pointing to nowhere.

so our ride was 9 a.m. but the bus arrived around 9.15 a.m. and we left at 9.30 a.m.
don't be surprised to read this but i have never sat on AeroLine ever and i just found out the whole bus seemed like an aeroplane on wheels.
double-decker, food-serving, a bus-steward...

lovely spagetti from Friday's- according to Yimei, AeroLine doesn't really serve such good food.
it was only Subway sandwiches or some other stuff.
:O
it was around a 5-hour journey...
registration starts at 2 p.m. but we reached One Utama's bus station around 1.30 p.m. the least (minus bad traffic and etc.)
from this paragraph onwards, the photos (taken solely by Yimei or her camera in particular) will literally tell the story.

hitched a ride from Yimei's dad.
*thanks uncle, for rushing.*

excited and freaking out because we were QUITE late and our note from KakaoTalk was to be punctual.

introducing The Gardens, South Zone.
where basically the whole lobby is so huge.

'you are supposed to have your sticker on you at all times.'
there was only a Black Sharpie to write our names on at the registration counter.
and guess what?
i brought down ALL my Sharpies down!
:D
and that is how my name is so C-O-L-O-U-R-F-U-L.
:P
okay maybe not multicolored but you get what i mean.

and... we made it! at the row so close to the back as the front rows are all full, obviously.
:)
tired but yeaaaa.
Yimei: late but Penang-represent.
so, this is the Joey Yap Conference Centre.

when we reached, The Ming Thing was already talking about his session.
Yimei passed me her other compact camera to take some shots.
i had a slow reaction so i didn't manage to capture them.
but i continued snapping for the rest.

The Grim Film.
from left: Jared, Hassaan, Wei Chen (which is apparently Jared's brother).

Joseph Germani as himself.

the tired face from like the long bus ride.
moving on...

  JinnyboyTv.
from left: Reuban Kang and Jin Lim.

Dan Khoo.

and so, after the sharing session, there was a 15-minute break.
i decided to just maybe grab a few shots with the Youtubers before the photo-taking session so i wouldn't have to like fight my way through the crowd.
so i asked Yimei to come along.
and when we got there, i froze a little and my heart was thumping pretty loudly as Jin was just right in front of me.
i kinda went up and asked him whether could i take the 'ultimate oscar selfie' with everybody and he was like:
'sure, now how do we do this?'
but we were somehow interrupted by one of the organizers asking us to do that later.
and Jin mentioned:
'okay, sure. we'll do it later. save a spot for her.'

and he told that to the lady (whom i just found out her name was Kylie after i found her Instagram.)
she too replied saying:
'we'll save a spot for you.'

so as a little disappointed as i was, we just went back to our seats.
Yimei was really busy tweeting all about the event and getting replied by some anonymous person (whom we couldn't find out who) behind the KakaoTalkMalaysia account on Twitter.

fast forward: there was the Games session where people get picked up to play charades with the Youtubers and guess what they were acting out.
that is me, at the final session with Dan Khoo and Joseph Germani.
how did i manage to get up there?
VARIOUS attempts of getting picked.
one of them was screaming 'i volunteer as tribute!' and some contribution from Yimei of course.
thank goodness, Miss Kylie was so kind to call me up.
:')

and yay, i got myself a KakaoTalk doll after guessing 'Barbie Doll', hinted by Dan Khoo with him pointing towards Reuben who mentioned it first.

and of course, here comes the favourite part of all the fans from this kind of event: Photo-taking session.
all the Youtubers were scattered around, and i do mean scattered around the Joey Yap Conference Centre.
the front, the back, the sides...?
i went up to Jin again and he remembered my request and was like:
'oh, so you want to take the selfie right? wait, you want everybody right?'
and he was just about to go to the front to call the others but i told him 'i'll go last.' since everybody else were so anxious to get selfies from them.
so yeaa...
in the meantime, Yimei asked me to just get everybody's signatures since that was just the practical thing to do at that time...
and just about a few others, the emcee just announced:
'okay, we might have to ask everybody to leave the hall because they're closing down for another occasion. ALL Youtubers, please go to the holding room.
ushers, please help.'

before she even finished her sentence, you can hear 'NOOOOO~NOT YETTTT~' sounding through the whole conference centre.
i actually freaked out the most, because of you know why already.
so i walked towards Jin again and did some pitiful sad face (because i almost cried) and he remembered (again) and said:
'oh, yes. right. come, follow me.'

and then i was walking in front of him and i realized i was heading into the holding room.
i found Yimei by the side and just whispered loudly because i wouldn't want to cause a riot and next thing you know there won't be a holding room anymore or i might just get mobbed...
but yeaa, luckily she heard me but i wasn't sure if she managed to follow me inside so i just continued my way and then i was halted by one of the ushers with his hand stretched across the room's entrance:

'sorry, you cannot enter.'
Jin'it's okay. let her in.'
usher: *confused look but moved his hand anyway*

i entered and again questioned by another usher and the same statements were said and then i was standing inside the quiet room with all the Youtubers staring right at me.
Wei Chen (The Grim Film) was sipping his beverage halfway and almost choked:

'how did you end up in here?'
Jin: 'oh, she wanted to take the big oscar selfie with all of us.'
*cues the selfie song?*
:D
feast your eyes, people.
:P

take one: Yimei's DSLR.
i have no idea how my face turned out to be such a retarded expression.
D:

take two: Yimei's other Sony camera because i thought Jin had longer hands and would take a proper all-face shot.

okay, finally the last shot.
the feeling of contentment!

 close enough?
:3

delayed my time in there as i rushed to get everybody's signatures to fill up my poster.
and then it really was time to go.

the only 2 selfies i managed to take.
:(
Dan Khoo from DanKhooProductions and
Ho Ming Yue, brother of Ming Han from The Ming Thing.
should have roped him in as well...
WHAT WAS I THINKING?
;((
anyways, did i mention i was in his iPhone too?
:3
*tries to stay calm*
and i gifted my purple Sharpie to him.
:D
such a lucky stationery to be in the hands of a famous Youtuber.
:')

and you could see the shots of the whole event here at the Facebook page.
Photographer : Jeremy Choy | rice photos
Apparel : ZALORA Malaysia
Venue : Life Academy

those signatures.
:D
p/s: i don't remember them having a Q'n'A session because time just wasn't enough...
:/

and then we had Nando's for dinner and just chilled there.

some deco on stage at Mid Valley plus a Furby toy which activates by iPhone.

the morning after:

Yimei was talking all about her Geocaching thing which i never did understood so she brought me to see what it is all about.

a photo before i get on the bus.
thus was a great experience.

BIG thank you to:
1. KakaoTalkMalaysia for choosing me as one of the lucky people to get an invite. (thanks Noel, for the call and verification email.)
2. my mum, for giving me the green light though you were worried sick..
3. Yimei, of course. for accompanying me down if not i wouldn't have got to meet the ones that i have been watching behind the computer screen come to life.
4. Jin, for giving me the opportunity to get 'extra' time.

and that was my best weekend in April 2014.
no offence to you, don’t waste your time.
