no silver or no gold; could dress me up so good.

3 months ago, i was also on my way to register for university; my tertiary education.
and then university life began.
and now my first semester is over.
:O

 1st September 2014.
the moment where every student of 19/20 years old were waiting for.
 entering UNIVERSITY!
(well not so colourful because mine was just purple; get it? :P)

woke up early because registration is from 8 a.m.- 12 p.m.?
mum seems to be more excite than me haha.
:)
maybe because i have seen my room and yeaa...
:X

first week of orientation: filled with our seniors briefing us and etc. then it's the hall where we sat and just maybe doze off now and then, plus heading back to our dorms to have this practice where we compete cheers amongst the other dorms.

first day woe: stepped on a bee and my cupboard door wouldn't budge.
-.-

photos to show how bored we were.
talks and talks and talks in the hall to get us to know USM...
being introducted to MyCSD (something like KoK marks and very important to secure a place to stay.)
so it was the hall, then lunch then back to the hall, then sleeping after midnight...
looked very terrible for the matrix card photo-taking session.
Dx

oath day.
was proudly one of the 6 representatives to stand in front of the crowd.
and we were officially USM's students!

then we were brought to our respective schools to have a bonding session.
this is my group posing for a photo after getting 3rd placing for the treasure word hunt.
:D

introducing my roommate from Ipoh, Yong Kah Mei on the day of our matrix card photoshoot.
:D
and the outcome was quite satisfying i might say despite those puffy eyes of not getting enough sleep the night before.

 the last day of orientation.
took photo with the main face that is the student representative of USM.
and the candid one on the right is our senior of the same course.

dinner dates.

volunteered to be the mascot of my hostel (Desasiswa Fajar Harapan) for the Walkrobik Kampus.
damn, the whole suit was like a sauna and it wasn't really comfortable.
and no, we didn't win 'Best Mascot' even though i was practically dancing my way and making fun of other mascots.
:3
nevertheless, it felt good helping.

this place is called Anjung Budi.
where you get to have food and relax at the porch with a breath-taking scenery (if the weather is good).

12th-14th September.
third week and third batch of Pimpin Siswa.
a 3-day-2-night camp at Kem Palas,  Yan, Kedah.
thought it was the 'worst' camp ever but when it came to the last day, i was reluctant to go home.
xD
that post-camp feelings...
oh, i was voted for being 'Ateh' of the team i was with, therefore the black wristband.
the one next to me with the red one is Jolene, the 'Angah' of the whole troop.
such an experience.
got addicted to the song, 'Bukit Yang Cantik'.

even got myself the camp tee for RM 20 (but i borrowed from a friend and returned him when i got back).
and i was officially the Alumni Kem Palas on Facebook.

the many awesome facilitators of the camp.

the stream where we do everything that requires water.
it's so clear and clean, it's drinkable.
:D
very refreshing, no joke.

Siek May.
the one that was the same camp as me.

and did i mention i took a photo with the Dean of my school while she visited my camp site as i was preparing to slauter a chicken?
:P

celebrated Mooncake Festival with the 下乡团 (Back to the Country).
one of the co-curriculum organizations in USM.

as for compulsory co-curriculum for obtaining units for graduation, i joined USM's Jazz Band for the Bass Keyboardist section.
so i do not let my piano skills go to waste.

 first practice!

was surprised to bump into Renee as one of the seniors in the band.
well, at least a familiar face!

more practice selfies.

third-year senior, Betty aka Anis (Section Leader for the Voice over Voices).
and the fish braid!
:3

similarities and a good hair day.
:D

another official event by one of the main Chinese organizations in USM.
obviously, the post Mooncake Festival event.

i made my own mooncake!
red bean paste.
tasted so good, i tell you.

won free stuff from the games area.

poor squirrel.
i released it after taking its photo because i don't think the cage was meant for it.

part of the #laEFPfamilia.

first facial mask in courtesy of both the Mays.

the many few moments of getting used to people around.
:)

27th September.
randomly joined a run organized by our hostel and i got 5th place!
my roommate on the other hand, an athlete got herself second-runner-up.
funny how we relied on each other to at least get a hamper because we ran out of emergency food.
xD

4th October.
of course, love's birthday.
:)
didn't manage to eat properly because he wasn't feeling well.
:(

then after that, met up with form 6 mates when they were back and it was Alia's birthday.
:D

 6th October.
sent love off to UTAR, Kampar.
trying very hard not to cry but cried.
thank you, aunty for making a space in the car for me.
:')

7th October.
Minitot organized by our hostel.
something like a mini Sports Day.

entered 100m and 400m.
and 2nd placing for both events.
still got that momentum i guess.
xP

found out i was involved in playing for Convocation and also Annual Concert for Jazz Band!

another senior under the VoV, Yan Kitt jie and braided hair.
:3

after signing up to be part of a musical drama produced by my school,
the School of Languages, Literacy and Translations.
first meeting for Eng-Chanted, an English For Professionals production.
and being voted to be the main character as another senior couldn't make it.

got consolation for a poetry recital competition (9th October) during International Week at my school.
it was quite unbelievable though because i was the only one with an English poem, but probably credits to because i recited something that i wrote myself.
xD
if you are curious, i've pasted it here.

most of us are taking the Basic Entrepreneurship subject (compulsory university subject) and therefore as part of our grade, we have to set up booths and sell stuff and gain money and etc.

and this is our stall.
Group 132, Girl Power.
we didn't manage to sell much but we still manage to sell.

i challenged myself and flew when Cornetto came and did a roadshow.
managed to turn more than 5 rounds?
got really dizzy after that.

random dinner time with #laEFPfamilia.

prize-giving ceremony for the Minitot.
Kah Mei received 3 prizes (all 1st placing), I 2 prizes (all 2nd placing), Siek May 1 prize for her 800m (1st placing).
and we have our emergency food stored up!

and for random events outside of uni, got invited for Ee Ling's brother's wedding and bumped into high school friends.
she looked great!
and primary school gathering.
always my favourite!
:3

went up to Bora-Bora and then to play pool at All Seasons Place.

November: Month of Deepavali.
visited Kierrthenah's place for lunch at Bayan Lepas.

and by night, dinner with my sole gay partner!
:DD

then my first attempt at doing the Chubby Bunny challenge.
the video is posted up on Swee Teng's timeline.
i only managed 7 marshmallows, goes to show how small my mouth is.

another Deepavali celebration at Sarrika's place.

promotion starts for USM Jazz Band's annual concert.

popped by Gurney Paragon for The Voice roadshow.

went to The Voice Cafe for the big bowl ramen as it was a first time for some of us.

first time dressing up for Halloween during one of the Jazz Band practices.
credits to Mindy (the Wonder-woman) for spending time putting on the make-up for me.
:3

very filling and affordable lunch at Campus Cafe.

 dinner with Mr. Charles.

assisted for the first time for about 6 sessions for convocation.

visited booths in conjunction with the
50th Golden Jubilee Convocation Ceremony.

joined one of the events called 'Fear' Factor and got consolation because it wasn't what we expected.

 took a personality test.

paid RM3 and spent approximately 10 minutes as a water hamster.

 more beauty products for free.

 went for Sushi King Bonanza...

and a random shopping spree.
#PowerpuffGirls
i had gotten the red one and Kah Mei the blue one.
we have sister dresses now.
xP

 11th November.
met the renown Jazz player, Ezra Brown, whom taught us a few things about playing with soul.
and i managed to have my own band for a few minutes, with me on the piano.

flew across a ditch.

celebrated mamma's birthday chasing down the hop-on-hop-off bus as it was the last day of FOC promotion.

and of course, dinner before i was sent back to campus.
late night supper conversations (and sometimes a movie slot) at McDonalds after hectic practices for concert.

got mind-blown by Interstellar.

 29th November.

keyboard section.
 concert concert concert.
:DD
so nice to be involved as a first-year.

*disclaimer: the following professional photos taken from Facebook.*

 one and only, Prof. Razif.
our conductor.

 supper right after that.

Coffee Hour: 6 countries in half an hour.

 5th December.
being an emcee for USM Jazz Band Appreciation Night 2014.

and went for a midnight movie and came back with Anubis haunting.

and sure enough, the next day i accompanied the Mini Big Band (selected part of USM Jazz Band) to Kedah for an invited performance.
the place was filled with Anubis's.

 the president, Pei Luan.
:)
note to self: dress code for Mini Big Band must be grand and nothing less.

8th December.
Jazz Band's AGM.
the new committee.

and a selected photo for the Vice Presidents.
:3

and if my name wasn't being nominated, i wouldn't have given the chance to take up responsibility.
so thank you, dear 4th year senior, Maurice.
all the trust, i will not let down.

14th December.
Mini Big Band's Appreciation Dinner.
almost thought i couldn't make it because it was the eve of my school's play and there might be full rehearsal.
but practice was let off early.

my very first time at Khuntai.

the next day, 15th December.
with only 2 months worth of practice (for me, even lesser because of the concert).
Eng-Chanted was produced as we uphold the school's name at Dewan Budaya.
and that was how i'm being called 'Tanya'.

Stage Directors: John and Jie Yu (the one with the belt), whom have spent almost every minute of their time with us.

managed to spend Yimei's birthday at Queens, with Sher Maine along.

and finally watching Big Hero 6.
x)
of course, this photo was taken WAY before i watched the movie.

and then it was the end of semester 1 and the study break came along.

celebrated Winter Solstice with love and my free gift from MyContest came in the mail.
:)
you can visit the site and see what contests you can enter if you want to try.
just random contests though.

 random lunch date.
:)

and i'll be facing finals in January.
if i had so many memories for my first semester in uni, i can't wait for the rest that will come along throughout my 3 years-course.
:D
and i hope i'll be more hardworking.
:P

you're the glitter in the darkness of my world.
